Fishing Report: Week of 6/4
The fishing conditions were finally perfect offshore this weekend and look to stay the same throughout this week. Winds should remain light all week with scattered showers throughout. Seas look to be less than 2 ft through this weekend.
Offshore Report:
Dolphin-Although they were very scattered, dolphin have been caught in good numbers recently. With some being caught along the edge in 100-250ft, people with the best luck and run further offshore between 600-1200ft using the run and gun method looking for debris. Trolling squid or ballyhoo has worked best. If you get on a school of fish, try using jigs tipped with squid or sardines or using vertical jigs.
Kingfish and Blackfin Tuna-Good numbers have been caught in the Juno/Jupiter area from the Pier to the Loran Tower. Most fish have been in 80-150ft. Slow trolling or kite fishing goggle eyes works well and so does drifting dead or live sardines.
Mutton and Yellowtail Snapper-The snapper bite continues to be consistent from the Breakers to Lost Tree between 60-100ft. The current has been finicky this week, ranging from 1-5knts so make sure you have some heavier leads with you to hold bottom. Dead sardines and goggle eyes have continued to produce the best results.
Inshore Report:
Although snook season came to a close this past week, the have started to move out of the rivers and into the inlets and along the beach in good numbers.
