Offshore Fishing Report: Offshore continues to be on the choppy side, but it’s been a fishable 2-3ft. seas and looks to continue to be the same through the weekend. Bottom fishing has been the most consistent this past week with reports of nice Mutton Snapper and flag size Yellowtail Snapper. The reports have been from the Dodge Wall to Lost Tree in 60-100ft of water. For those trolling, dolphin continue to be scattered and inconsistent, but the Blackfin Tuna bite has been very productive with fish up to 20lbs. being caught. Tuna Darts or Daisy Chains with darker colors (black & purple). Most fish have been reported between 150-400ft. from Lost Tree to Jupiter Inlet. We’re expecting a “cold front” and push of cooler air towards the end of the weekend. Look for the sailfish bite to pick up as the wind shifts out from out of the North on Sunday and into the beginning of next week. Kite fishing Goggle Eyes will be the hot ticket once the cooler temps arrive.
Inshore Fishing Report: Mullet are still continuing to flood the local intracoastal waterways with no signs of stopping yet. If you’re not using live mullet, there’s a wide variety of artificials available to at would entice a snook around these schools. Zara Spooks, Yo-Zuri Hydro Pencils, Shimano Colt Snipers, and Mirrolure Top Dogs are all great options if you’re looking for an early morning topwater bite. Snook fishing the bridges at night have also been productive still with Flair Hawks and Rapala X-Raps producing the best results. Bluefish have started to show up in good numbers along the beach in Juno. Any type of spoon or the aforementioned topwater plugs will work. For the last two weeks or so there has also been a consistent Redfish bite along the beach from the Juno Pier to the Jupiter Inlet. Large shrimp or finger mullet fished on the bottom have produced a lot of reported legal fish as well as many that have been brought to our cleaning table. Take advantage of this bite while the fish are around, we don’t get this many in our area often!
