Offshore Report: We’ve gotten plenty of Dolphin reports the last few days now that it’s fishable offshore of Palm Beach and Jupiter. Most of the fish are smaller, but still plenty of gaffers mixed in. The reports we’ve gotten have been between 600-1000ft of water mostly off of Palm Beach and Singer Island. Trolling skirted squid and ballyhoo will be your best bet. Mylar and bright colored skirts have worked the best. Fish will also be schooled up around debris so make sure you have extra sardines or squid to cut into chunks to keep the dolphin around the boat.
We’ve had a few reports of an early Sailfish bite as well. Most fish have been between 150-250ft anywhere from the Lake Worth Pier to Singer Island. The sails that we’ve heard of have been caught off of a kite on live goggle eyes and blue runners. Bottom fishing has also picked up this week with good reports of Yellowtail snappers being caught in 60-90 ft along Singer Island.
Inshore Report: Mullet have still been flooding through the ICW from Hobe Sound to Palm Beach. Jacks, snook, tarpon, and redfish have all been in the mix that is chasing the mullet schools South. Fishing a mullet with a weight or hooking it near it’s anal fin will cause your bait to swim below the school, thus enticing more bites. It will be an easy target not mixed in with the others. Fishing has been great at the Juno Pier as well. We’ve had reports of Pompano, Mackerel, and tons of Triple Tail this past week. A “goofy” style jig either by itself or tipped with shrimp has been working for all 3 species.
