Offshore Report: Bottom fishing continued to be the most productive thing offshore this week. We didn’t get as many reports of big muttons this week, but plenty of nice fish are still being caught. Dead sardines or goggle eyes will be your best bet bait-wise. The bite had shifted a little South from last week. Fish from 65-100ft from the Dodge Wall to Lost Tree. Plenty of kingfish are mixed in in that area as well with most of the fish being from 5-15lbs.

A few wahoo have been reported this week also. The Full Moon is the 19th, so any early morning or late afternoon will give you a great shot at getting one. Trolling will be your best bet for wahoo. Try trolling in a zig-zag pattern East to West from 100-400ft. The areas around both Palm Beach and Jupiter Inlet produce wahoo this time of year and only get better as summer approaches. All the normal wahoo baits will work (Ilander with Mullet or Horse Ballyhoo, Yo-Zuri Bonita, Cowbells, skirt and bonito strip, or junkanoo style lures).

Inshore Report: The pompano bite has calmed down quite a bit this week, with the reports we’ve been hearing. Seems as though the fish have moved further North to the Stuart area and further up the coast. There have been good numbers of Kingfish being caught from the Juno Pier this week. Most fish are being caught on Rapala X-Raps or live bait. The best bite has been first thing in the morning and late afternoon. Whiting and croakers have been caught along the beach as well as the Juno Pier this week. Shrimp, clams, or fish bites will all work as bait.

With this warm weather, snook are going to continue to push out to the inlets and beaches. Other than bridge fishing and fishing around docklights at night, trolling for snook at night can also be extremely productive. Pulling heavy swimbaits or lipped plugs will be your best bet. A list of great lures for snook trolling includes Spooltek Lures, Rapala Xraps, Yo Zuri Crystal Minnows, Live Target Mullet, Bomber Plugs, and Windcheaters.
