Sorry we’eve been slacking a little bit, but we’re back with our weekly fishing report.

Offshore Report: If heading offshore, bottom fishing has been the most productive in the last week or so. We’ve had quite a few reports of Mutton Snapper being caught over 10lbs. Use dead sardines on the bottom with an 8-15ft. fluorocarbon leader. Most of the fish we’ve been hearing of have been from the Tiara on Singer Island to the Juno area from 80-110ft. Cobia have still been caught in good numbers in the same area as well. Have a jig ready or cut bait readily available if you see Cobia around the boat.

Kingfish are still being caught in those same depths as the Muttons and Cobia, but most fish have been a little further to the North in Jupiter.

The wind looks to die down these next few days and into the weekend. If you’re able to get further offshore, there have been Dolphin around. The Dolphin bite should only get better moving closer to May and June. The Dolphin reports we’ve gotten have been smaller fish, but they’ve been in 300-500ft. from the Breakers to the Dodge Wall on Palm Beach. Troll skirted squid or ballyhoo rigged with monofilament.

Inshore/Beach Report: The Pompano bite has been off the charts the last couple of weeks in the Juno Beach area. We’ve gotten reports every day of people catching their limits from Lost Tree to Jupiter and on the Juno Pier. Fresh bait doesn’t seem to be necessary either, as most of the fish are being caught on Fish Bites and Pompano Jigs. Try to get out there while it lasts! There hasn’t been a Pompano bite this good in our area in years.

The snook bite has continued to get better at night around dock lights and bridges in the Jupiter area. It should only get better as temperatures continue to warm up. Look for fish to start moving to Jupiter and Palm Beach inlets as well. Live pilchards or shrimp are your best bet for snook around the dock lights. Flair jigs and heavy swimbaits like a Hogy or Spooltek continue to be the best option around the local bridges.
