Offshore Fishing Report: It appears that we’re getting a couple more cold fronts moving into the area this week. One will be moving through tonight and another will be making its way down here late Sunday. There has been a good Kingfish bite to the South this week and should continue. Most fish are being caught between the Lake Worth Pier and the Breakers between 70-100ft. Some smoker fish between 40-50lbs. have been mixed in. Kite fishing or bump trolling Goggle Eyes or small Blue Runners will work best. The sailfish bite has been decent, but the cold weather should help it pick up again. Most fish have been caught in the Juno/Jupiter area this past week. Goggle eyes will once again be the go-to bait. If you’re able to get live Pilchards, there have been some nice Blackfin Tuna caught from Lost Tree to the Juno Pier. 100-200ft has been the target depth.
Inshore Fishing Report: Spanish Mackerel have still been thick in Peck’s Lake. Also to the North, the Pompano bite has been good from Blowing Rocks to Hobe Sound. The water has been clear along the beach, so a fluorocarbon pompano rig will help improve your chances. Sandfleas have worked best, but fresh shrimp or Fish Bites have also worked well. The nighttime Tarpon bite has been good inside the Palm Beach Inlet. Drifting large live shrimp on an outgoing tide will produce the best results. If you’re just trying to bend a rod, there have been a ton of Jacks in the Palm Beach inlet as well. Using a diamond jig is sure to get some bites. Replace treble hooks with single hooks to help release the fish much easier.
