Offshore Fishing Report:  The offshore sailfish bite should continue to pick up as the weekend temperatures will dip into the high 40’s in the early morning again. A strong cold front is moving through the area today and tomorrow making it tough to get offshore, but the weekend forecast looks much more promising. Again we’ve had multiple reports this week of boats getting up to 10 sailfish bites in a day. Most of the fish have been congregating between the Lake Worth Pier and Palm Beach inlet in 100-250ft. Kite fishing with goggle eyes still going to be the best option, but bump trolling live baits or trolling ballyhoo has also produced bites. There have also been quite a few wahoo caught this week. Many of them have been caught live baiting by those targeting sailfish, so putting a short piece of wire at the end of your leader might be a good idea. The fish have been scattered in their usual 100-300ft depths from the Dodge Wall to the Juno Pier.

Inshore Fishing Report:  Peck’s Lake has still been the hot ticket for mackerel along the beach and should continue to hold good numbers for the next few months. For those running the beach up to the Peck’s Lake area, make sure you have a rod with a pompano jig ready, because there have been good numbers of them from Juno Pier to Blowing Rocks. Schools of larger bluefish have also continued to push down the beach with every passing cold front. Some have made it inshore too. If you’re able to fish by boat, the North end of the Lake Worth Lagoon has been holding some bluefish as well as large jacks. Use a topwater plug like a Mirrolure TopDog or Rapala Skitter Walk for best results.
