Offshore: Bottom fishing has been the best bet this past week. Reports have been coming in of nice sized Mutton snapper being caught in Juno and Jupiter in 80-100ft if you can get them past the sharks. The kingfish bite has still been steady in the same area, but most fish have been on the smaller side. Wahoo fishing slowed down quite a bit but should start ramping up again in the following days with the upcoming full moon on August 26. Dolphin have been scattered and small for the most part. Seas should be less than 2 feet through the weekend, but make sure to get offshore early in the day to avoid the thunderstorms.
Inshore: Palm Beach and Jupiter Inlet are on fire for catch and release snook fishing. Live mullet and croakers on the bottom have worked best. We’ve gotten steady reports of fish being caught along the beach from Jupiter Island to McArthur Park. Snook and tarpon have been following the schools of glass minnows along the beach. “Matching the hatch” will be your best bet using smaller jerk baits or twitch baits that resemble the glass minnows.
